About Jeffrey Mayer
Jeffrey Mayer is a Web Designer/Developer with over 30 years of computer experience. His first experience with a personal computer was in 1979 when he was the Business Manager of a college tavern and cafe at Rutgers University in New Jersey. The new Apple IIe was used to perform all of the accounting functions including payroll. The hot software application at the time was Visicalc, the first electronic spreadsheet.
In 1985, Jeff became Comptroller of a non-profit, social services agency and the IBM XT computer was the machine of choice. In his five years there, Jeff automated the manual bookkeeping system to a fully computerized, multi-user system running under the Xenix (Unix) operating system.
Next, Jeff spent seven years with New York Life as a mainframe programmer. There he learned Assembler, Cobol, PL1, JCL, and MVS.
In 2002, he enrolled in the Lincoln Technical Institute and developed skills in web development such as HTML, Java and Object Orient Programming (OOP). He received the Executive Director's Award upon graduation.
Jeffrey Mayer Enterprises has been in business since 2000.
